SKWC Adds Four-Time All-American, Two-Time Big Ten Champion Sasso as Resident Athlete

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The SKWC announced the addition of four-time NCAA All-American and two-time Big Ten Conference Champion Sammy Sasso as its newest resident athlete. A Nazareth, Pennsylvania, native, Sasso wrestled at Ohio State from 2018-2025.
Sasso produced an illustrious collegiate career, finishing with 106 victories during his time in Columbus. Sasso delivered Big Ten titles in 2021 and 2023, closing with a 10-2 all-time record at the conference tournament. A four-time All-American, Sasso was a national runner-up in 2023 and 2021. In his final full collegiate season in 2023, Sasso finished 29-4 en route to a runner-up finish at the national tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In freestyle, Sasso was a 2023 member of the USA Wrestling Senior National Team. That year, Sasso placed second at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas, Nev., then defeated Alec Pantaleo by a 10-0 technical fall in the National Team True Third Place match during Final X in Newark, N.J.
Sasso was a two-time Pennsylvania AAA state champion at Nazareth High School, placing top three all four seasons. Sasso compiled a 180-11 scholastic record, including a 135-3 mark during his final three high school seasons. Sasso was a Beast of the East, Fargo Freestyle, Ironman and Super 32 champion.
Sasso joins current SKWC resident athletes Zach Elam (Missouri), Mikey Labriola (Nebraska) and Kamol Begakov.
