INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS
Since its foundation in 2011, the SKWC has seen a number of its athletes earn success on the national stage. From world championships to the Olympics, the SKWC has sent its athletes to compete at the highest level of the sport.

Sebastian Rivera - Olympic Bronze Medalist
Former Rutgers wrestling standout Sebastian Rivera delivered a bronze medal in 65kg freestyle for Team Puerto Rico at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Rivera closed out an epic back-and-forth match against Tulga Tumur-Ochir (Mongolia) with a takedown at the buzzer to become the first Scarlet Knight wrestler and SKWC athlete to medal at the Olympics history.
Anthony Ashnault - Pan-American Champion
Four-time All-American and 2019 NCAA champion Anthony Ashnault qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials after he secured a 70 kg freestyle gold medal at the Pan American Championships in Ottawa, Canada. Ashnault earned a spot at the Olympic Trials in University Park, Pennsylvania with a chance to represent Team USA at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo before it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.


Richie Lewis - U23 World Champion
Former Rutgers wrestling standout Richie Lewis put his name on the international map with an individual title at the U23 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Lewis was a two-time NCAA qualifier and Big Ten Bronze Medalist during his time in Piscataway.
