No. 14 Wrestling Defeats Navy, 24-12

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 14 Rutgers wrestling (4-0) defeated Navy (0-2), 24-12, on Saturday in a neutral-site match in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Scarlet Knights worked a 7-3 match split with the Midshipmen, including bonus-point victories from No. 12 Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184) and No. 25 Anthony White (157).


RU jumped out to a 9-0 lead with three consecutive decisions, including ranked wins from No. 7 Dylan Shawver (133) and Ayden Smith (125). The Midshipmen would get as close as 16-9 before a tech fall from Cartagena-Walsh and a decision from No. 20 Remy Cotton (197) sealed the win for Rutgers.

FOUR CLAIM TITLES AT JOURNEYMEN COLLEGIATE


BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Four student-athletes from No. 14 Rutgers wrestling produced individual titles at the 2025 Journeymen Collegiate Classic on Sunday in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Freshman Easton Doster went 4-0 en route to an individual title in 157-Pound Brown Division, while classmate Devon Magro delivered three wins to secure first in the 149-Pound White Division.


Competing unattached, redshirt freshman Nick Villani (149) and sophomore Conner Harer (157) earned individual titles in their respective pools, with both going 3-0 on the day.


Four true freshmen – Doster, Magro, Jordan Chapman (174) and Tahir Parkins (141) competed attached at the tournament, with Chapman and Parkins both facing a ranked opponent in their respective brackets. Parkins added a win over Harvard's Dante Frinzi.


Redshirt sophomore Dagen Condomitti (157) picked up three victories, including back-to-back tech falls to open Sunday action. Redshirt Freshmen Mason Gibson (141) and Nate Blanchette (174) registered multiple victories.


The tournament capped a successful weekend for the Scarlet Knights after they secured a 24-12 win over Navy on Saturday during Journeymen WrangleMania. RU worked a 7-3 match split with the Midshipmen, including bonus-point victories from No. 12 Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184) and No. 25 Anthony White (157).


Rutgers returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 23 when it sends its full lineup to the Keystone Classic in Philadelphia.
