Newest Signee Anthony Knox Joins Flo Radio Live to Discuss Commitment

Four-time NJSIAA State Champion Anthony Knox, signed to compete with Rutgers wrestling, joined Flo Radio Live to discuss his commitment to the Scarlet Knights.

The No. 1 overall recruit in his weight class out of Saint John Vianney, Knox produced an illustrious 144-1 record during his high school career from 2022-25.

Knox is one of only five New Jersey wrestlers to win four individual state championships and the fourth to compete for the Scarlet Knights under head coach Scott Goodale, joining Anthony Ashnault, Andrew Campolattano and Nick Suriano. Ashnault and Suriano went on to win the program's first individual NCAA titles in 2019.

Knox joins an already loaded incoming recruiting class signed by Goodale and assistant coaches Joe Pollard, Steve Mytych and Mikey Labriola, which features Alex Bajoras, Charlie Esposito, Brandt Harer, CJ Huerta and Alex Reyes.

Knox was one of the top individual wrestlers in state history at SJV, winning his final 138 high school matches to finish with a 144-1 career record. Along with his four state crowns, Knox secured four district and region titles, was a three-time Beast of the East Champion and helped Saint John Vianney to a Non-Public B title this past season. Knox won state titles at 113 pounds in 2022, 120 pounds in both 2023 and 2024 and 126 pounds in 2025.

As a senior in 2024-25, Knox finished with an unblemished 40-0 record, capped by his fourth individual NJSIAA crown in Atlantic City. Knox dominated at the state championships, scoring 81 points with all five of his wins coming by bonus – three tech falls and two major decisions.

Knox has also enjoyed success on the international level, being named Most Outstanding Wrestler en route to a U20 Men's Freestyle National Championship at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas. Knox followed with a U20 World Team Trials title at 57kg in Geneva, Ohio, securing a spot at the U20 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria for Team USA.
